Finding Magic in the Mundane
When we slow down, the ordinary has a way of becoming extraordinary.

Even joy can be found in the mundane.

A Slower Perspective
When life’s giving you lemons, it can be hard to stay positive and hopeful. This week’s newsletter is a reminder that joy can be found in the little things around you if you slow down long enough to see and experience them. Sometimes these moments are exactly what you need to push through a tough chapter, busy week, or intrusive thoughts. Consider reading the following story about how slow living can open your eyes to the whimsy around you:
What’s Worth Consuming
Article: “The Power of Little Things: How to Find Joy in the Everyday” explains the magic behind everyday “glimmers”.
Music: ‘Good Days’ by SZA feels like a good day wrapped up in a song. It can help you visualize what a “good day” feels like, so we recommend you close your eyes and breathe deeply to this song while envisioning what good days ahead look like to you.
Experience: If you can, set aside time for a museum day. A day full of learning can spark joy, inspiration, and core memories... especially if you’re joined by good company.
Quote: “Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realise they were the big things.” – Robert Brault
A Thoughtful Ritual for This Week
Set the intention to see a “sign” from the universe that symbolizes joy to you. For example, it can be as simple as asking to see rainbows, monarch butterflies, ladybugs, or your favorite tree or flower. Trust, you’ll start seeing your chosen sign all around you in modest and considerable ways that put a smile on your face.
Tiny Shifts to Consider
Start a joy journal to track all the little things that brought you laughter, wonder, and bliss.
Compliment a stranger or a friend. Notice how a small act of kindness can brighten two days at once.
Sit under a tree at a local park, paying close attention to the sound of the birds, trees, and the way sunlight dances through the leaves.
Leave your phone in your pocket during a walk and notice five beautiful things you’ve never paid attention to before; for example, a colorful front door, wildflowers growing through the sidewalk, or the scent of fresh rain.
A Prompt for Your Sunday Reset
As we enter this next week, we hope you feel empowered to find magic in the mundane. If it’s too hard a task for you, try journaling or asking yourself:
How can I invite more joy into my life? When it shows up, can I recognize it? Do I stop to take in the moment? Or do I push away joy? Do I think it’s something to be “deserved” or “earned”?
